4 Overrated Things at Walt Disney World

Influencers and content creators across the internet are quick to share incredible foods or experiences at Walt Disney World. Sometimes I fall for the hype and try something only to find that whatever it is, is not in fact that great. Read below to discover my hot take on 4 Overrated Things at Walt Disney World. Some might surprise you!

1. Jack Jack’s Num Num Cookie

One of the most overrated, but photogenic treats in Disney World is Jack Jack’s Num Num cookie in Hollywood Studios. Y’all… please do not waste your money on this cookie. It’s slightly better warm, but it’s basically a very okay chocolate chip cookie. You’re better off getting one at Gideon’s or even the Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom. They have an incredible peanut butter and M&M cookie that is much better than Jack Jack’s.

2. The Cobb Salad at Hollywood Brown Derby

Hollywood Brown Derby was recommended to us over and over again. My sister and I were excited to finally get a reservation and try the restaurant on our girls trip. Maybe we had our expectations too high, but the experience as a whole was not great. I tried the iconic Cobb salad and found the texture to be mushy and the flavor bland. That might sound harsh, but I want to be honest. My sister didn’t love her meal either. We wanted so badly to love the Hollywood Brown Derby, but it was not to be.

3. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

I want so badly to love Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Animal Kingdom is my favorite park, I adore animals, and it’s really a beautiful resort. However… our first hotel stay on Disney property was at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it did not go well at all.

Though I tried to remain positive, the staff was repeatedly unkind and unhelpful, our groceries were lost, our room was not clean, and overall… the stay was underwhelming. It was so bad I haven’t been able to get myself to go back since. It almost ruined our impression of Disney World overall.

4. Peter Pan’s Flight

Okay before I explain why I think Peter Pan’s Flight might be a bit overrated, just know that I do enjoy this ride. I love the original book and everything to do with Peter Pan. It’s just… why is there always a 45 minute or more wait for this ride? I do not understand it. It’s a cute ride, but so is Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. Is it the pixie dust? The iconic story? I’m just not sure it’s worth waiting an hour to ride.
