1. Toddler Sling

The toddler sling might be my Roman Empire. If you have a small child who loves to be held, but they are too big for a carrier, then be sure to buy a sling. We use it almost every day on vacation and it saves my arms and back a lot of pain.

2. Books

We read together every single night. It’s so much a part of our routine that my daughter struggles to sleep if we haven’t read a book together. She also loves to read on her own time, so we pack a few paperback story books that are easily tucked into the carry-on.

3. Portable Sound Machine

Hotel room walls can be thin and you might be placed by a noisy neighbor. My daughter has always been a touchy sleeper, so white noise is our saving grace.

4. Suckers

If you have ever been on a plane with a child who can’t pop their ears, you know how vital this item is. I give my daughter a sucker, snack, or water during takeoff and landing to help her little ears. The Yum Earth brand is allergy friendly, gluten free, non-GMO, vegan, has no artificial flavors or dyes and is low in sugar, so that’s my go-to.

5. Hand Sanitizer

Airports and theme parks are dirty. We pack a couple small bottles of hand sanitizer and use them frequently.
