5 Exciting Things to do with Your Kids in Kansas City

Kansas City is full of fun things to do with your kids. It would be a great place for a family staycation weekend or a road trip stop. Read below to discover our top 5 Exciting Things to do with Your Kids in Kansas City.

1. Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

One of our favorite places to visit in Kansas City is the KC Zoo and Aquarium. You could spend an entire day at the park, it’s so big. We recommend going on a weekday during the school year if you can, because the weekends and summer get pretty busy.

2. Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant

Have a meal delivered to your table by a tiny train at Fritz’s in Crowne Center. Our daughter was thrilled to wait for our meal to arrive and talked about it for hours afterward. The food was nothing too exciting (think burgers and fries), so you’re paying for the atmosphere, but it was worth it to see the look on her face.

3. Union Station

There’s always something interesting happening at Union Station. Most recently they have a Disney 100 exhibit. If you or your little ones are fans of Disney, it’s definitely worth the stop. Union Station also has science city, a planetarium, model train gallery and a theatre.

4. Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

We’ve never had the opportunity to visit the Farmstead, but my nephews absolutely love it. Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead looks like a Kansas family farm straight from the early 1900s. They have over 250 animals, stores, a country schoolhouse and more.

5. The Rabbit Hole

The Rabbit Hole is a new museum experience in KC that’s dedicated to children’s literature. I cannot wait to go to this very soon, so be sure to follow us on Instagram for all the details! I’ve heard great things.
