Mom Advice for Traveling to Disney World Solo with Kids

My daughter and I have traveled to Disney World multiple times on our own, and at first I was a little nervous. Could I handle a toddler alone in the parks? It turns out, Disney World solo with kids is actually really fun. Read below to discover all the reasons, or my “Mom Advice for Traveling to Disney World Solo with Kids.”

1. Transportation

My number one reason for continuing to go back to Disney World with my daughter is honestly the ease of transportation. This includes transportation to and from the resorts as well as transportation on Disney property. There are several services that offer exemplary transportation from MCO airport, including MCO2Disney. You don’t have to rent a car or get an uber!

As for inside the parks themselves, transportation with a stroller is so easy. They have boats, a skyliner, buses and even Minnie vans. Getting around with a toddler or preschooler can be tricky, but with all the options to and from resorts and the park… Disney makes it simple!

2. Kid-Friendly

That being said, Disney World is obviously incredibly kid-friendly. There are always toddler-friendly food options and plenty of entertainment. Even the resorts have things for kids to do. We rarely have screen-time at Disney, because there is always something to do or see. Cast Members and characters are so helpful when your little one is having a hard time, and their compassion makes traveling to the parks solo so much easier.

3. Safety

Another perk of going to Disney is the safety. I feel very safe in the parks, on transportation and at the resorts. Obviously we still take precautions. For example, my daughter has to hold my hand or the stroller when we are walking. We also travel with an Airtag and secure our hotel room well. However, I’ve never felt nervous on Disney property. They are prepared and take care to make it the safest environment for kids.

4. Less Chores

Another bonus about going to Disney is not being focused on chores. Sometimes at home I can get lost in my to-do list. At Disney, I don’t hav to worry do much about tidying or preparing meals. I can just be present and enjoy the most magical place on earth with my girl. And it’s wonderful.

5. Witness the Magic

Speaking of the most magical place on earth, my final reason for traveling solo to Disney World is to witness the magic. My daughter is almost four years old. She sees all the goodness and beauty in the world around her that we as adults have trouble seeing. Her joy at meeting a beloved character is something that’s hard to explain. That smile… it’s worth it every time.
