Welcome to a brand new blog series I will be doing about the perfect day at each park. In this series, I will be sharing what I imagine to be the perfect day at each individual park. Take a look below to discover How to Spend the Perfect Day in Islands of Adventure.
(Keep in mind that my perfect day at Islands of Adventure includes the following: my husband, sister, 3-year-old daughter, coordinating outfits and decent weather. It’s the ideal day!)
8:00am – Utilize Early Park Admission
If you stay at a Universal Orlando Resort, you get the added benefit of early entry. We always try to take advantage of this option in order to knock out bigger rides.
8:15am – Rides
Colton and Sam will get to the park before 8am in order to make it to Velocicoaster or Hagrid’s. Ronia and I will hang back and take our time getting to Three Broomsticks.
9:00am – Breakfast at the Three Broomsticks
We will all meet up after they ride at least one of the two big attractions and eat some breakfast at the Three Broomsticks. I can’t explain it, but they make the best pancakes. There’s also a beautiful and relaxing nook behind the restaurant that we always try to snag.
9:30am – Butterbeer & Hogsmeade
After breakfast it would be time to wander Hogsmeade with a Butterbeer or Pear Cider. There are a few shops to check out, as well as the Owl Post. We always try and send a postcard by owl to friends or family.
10:30am – Wander to Jurassic Park
One of my favorite IPs is Jurassic Park, so after thoroughly enjoying Hogsmeade we would likely head there.
11:00am – Rides
Around this time of day we would try to ride King Kong or the Jurassic Park water ride. Both are underrated, in our humble opinion. We also might try to meet a baby dinosaur or velociraptor.
12:30pm – Lunch!
Normally I would be tempted to leave Islands of Adventure and have lunch somewhere like CowFish or Toothsome, but for the sake of this post we will stay in the park. That being said, we have several options for lunch depending on what you’re feeling. I would debate between Thunder Falls Terrace, Wimpys, or Green Eggs and Ham.
1:30pm – Wander Through Toon Town and Marvel
At this point in the day we might wander though Toon Town and Marvel, check out the shops and see if there are any characters to meet. We might take a look at the stores in the front of Islands of Adventure. Normally it would be time to go back for nap time, but in my perfect day we stay out the whole day instead.
3:45pm – Meet Seuss Characters
A few times a day they host a story time in Seuss Land with all your favorite characters. My daughter and I are big fans of the stories, so we would love to stop there for a bit before going to Dinner.
5:00pm – Dinner at Mythos
Always dinner at Mythos. Always. Our order includes, but is not limited to: The Fork Knife and Spoon Grilled Cheese, Spanakopita Dip, and Chocolate Banana Gooey Cake. Read more about this incredible restaurant here.
6:00pm – Whatever We Missed
Now would be the time to go and see or do whatever we missed. Or it might be a good opportunity to find a little nook to sit down in and relax. It depends on how our feet are feeling. They also have a small splash pad for kids in Seuss Land that’s helpful on hot days.
7:30pm – Find Spot for Hogwarts Light Show
The crowds can get a little crazy, depending on the time of year and day you are at the park. I would go a little early to find a spot for the light show. The crowds will also be smooshed together a bit and it will be standing room only. Still worth it. It’s a beautiful show.
8:30pm – Stroll Through Seuss Land at Night
To finish our day, I would love to walk through Seuss Land and maybe grab a cookie from Snookers and Snookers to end the night. The lights in this area of the park are so beautiful in the evening.
