bestillandwrite On our most recent trip to Disney World we stayed at the Saratoga Springs Resort. To be honest, I had pretty low expectations when we chose to stay here, but after one minute in our room I knew this hotel would be competing for our favorite resort at Disney. 1. The Atmosphere & Theming
The number one thing I loved about Saratoga Springs was the atmosphere. By that I mean this resort is simply serene. No matter the time of day there was hardly any noise. You can sit on your patio or veranda with a cup of coffee and just relax at this resort, and that’s not typical for Disney.
As for the theming, this resort is inspired by the historic Saratoga Springs in New York, which is famous for horse racing and spas. The theming was subtle and classy, which was a lovely change from other more “loud” resorts.
2. Stunning Rooms
Our one bedroom villa room was so nice it felt as though we were staying somewhere like the Floridian… but half the cost. We had a washer and dryer, full kitchen, an abundance of storage and an enormous tub. I could not get over how incredible the room was. Honestly it made me want to just relax there instead of going out to the parks.
3. Cast Members
On our most recent trip to Disney World I was traveling alone with my daughter. This could have felt very overwhelming, but the cast members at Saratoga Springs made everything easy. They helped me get my bags to my room, answered any questions we had and made my daughter feel so special.
4. Amenities
The amenities at Saratoga Springs are endless. They have a golf course, spa, health club, pools, bike rentals, basketball and tennis courts, and various other activities for everyone in the family. The weather during our stay was very chilly, so we would love to go back during the warmer months and take advantage of all this resort has to offer.
5. Boat
The last thing we loved about Saratoga Springs was the boat to Disney Springs. If you plan to spend some time shopping or eating at those restaurants, this perk might be the main reason to stay at Saratoga.
Now for what we don’t love…
6. Buses
In my opinion the one con for Saratoga Springs is the buses. We happened to be there on a race weekend (which was an oversight on my part). However, I feel like the buses would be an issue no matter when you stay. The resort is serene for a reason… it isn’t very close to any of the parks. Because of this distance, the bus rides take a little longer. There are also several stops within the resort, which extend your ride time.
If you are traveling with little kids, the longer bus rides may get tedious. We opted to use a Minnie Van on a couple of occasions simply to avoid the lengthy ride.
