Our favorite resort on Universal Studios property is Sapphire Falls. We’ve stayed at a few of the other resorts on property, but keep coming back to the Sapphire, and for good reason! Read all about Why We Love the Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Studios below.
1. The Boat & Trail
Our #1 reason for loving Sapphire Falls is access to the boat and walking trail. Universal Studios has a a water taxi service that leaves from select hotel and drops you off just outside the Universal Studios park entrance. The boat ride is very calming compared to the bus transportation at other resorts.
Sapphire Falls also has a walking trail that connects the resort to an area close to the Islands of Adventure park entrance. The trail is also very relaxing and usually not crowded. Another bonus? The security entrance at the end of the trail is much more manageable than the city walk hub.
2. The Atmosphere
Sapphire Falls is inspired by landmarks of the Caribbean islands. The colors are bright and the design is clean and soothing. Basically, staying at the Sapphire feels like staying at an island resort.
3. The Food
Sapphire Falls has several dining options, including: Amatista Cookhouse, Strong Water Tavern, New Dutch Trading Co and Drhum Club Kantine. The New Dutch Trading Co has excellent empanadas and baked goods. It’s a great quick-service location to stop at on your way to the parks or late in the evening.
Amatista Cookhouse serves an incredible buffet breakfast. We’ve also eaten there for dinner and found the service to be impeccable. They were very accommodating for our toddler and though a grilled cheese was not on the menu, the chef made an exception for her.
4. The Spacious Rooms
Though the water taxis are convenient, another perk of staying at the Sapphire is the space. The kids suites are ideal when you are traveling with family. Our daughter is able to nap or go to sleep early in a separate space so that we can enjoy time to ourselves. There’s also lots of storage and space for her to play.
5. The View
On our last stay at Sapphire Falls, we were blown away by the view from our resort room window. We could see the fireworks and light show off Hogwarts Castle in Islands of Adventure. So, even on nights when we were not in the park, we were able to enjoy some extra magic. You can see a lot of landmarks like this, depending on the view from your room.
