When I first told people we were going to take our baby girl to Disney World, they had a lot of opinions. The most commonly asked question was, “Will she even remember this?” My daughter is three years old now and I can tell you every trip we take with her, no matter how chaotic, has been worth it. You don’t have to wait until your kids are all grown up to go to the most magical place on earth. Read below to discover Why You Need to Take Your Toddler to Disney World.
1. Plenty of Attractions for Littles
My first reason for Why You Need to Take Your Toddler to Disney World is because there are so many attractions for littles. We don’t have to take turns on rides often, because most of the time our daughter can come with us. There are even rides for babies at Disney.
2. Cheaper
Did you know that until your child turns three years old, they get into Disney World for free? Yup. No ticket needed. Disney tickets can get pricey, so if you go when your child is a toddler then you don’t need to worry about that particular cost!
3. Very Kid-Friendly
Disney World is so incredibly kid-friendly. Cast members go above and beyond to be helpful and make sure your child has a magical day. Most hotels and transportation are geared toward littles, and I for one feel very safe while on Disney property.
4. Builds Confidence
My husband and I both noticed such a surge in our daughter’s confidence after going to Disney. The characters and cast members are so loving and encouraging that you could just see her slowly coming out of her shell. It honestly made me cry. Definitely a highlight for me as a mom.
5. Characters
Speaking of characters, another reason to take your toddler to Disney is so that they can meet their favorite characters. Characters like Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Fancy Nancy, Woody and Buzz, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle…. the list goes on and on. Watching your little one meet people they’ve seen in the movies and get to hug them and talk with them.. it’s the BEST.
6. Even More Magical
Basically, bringing your little kids with you makes the entire trip much more magical. There’s nothing like seeing that glimmer in their eyes as they watch a parade or a show, meet a character they admire, try mickey waffles or see fireworks over the castle. I spend most of my time in the park with my daughter just watching her reactions. It’s an indescribable thing.
7. Less Chores
On a more selfish note, when you are at Disney World you will likely not have to do as many chores. Things like dishes, meal prep, and laundry are not a thing while we are on vacation. I find that when we are in a Disney park I am able to be much more present, because there’s less tasks vying for my attention.
8. Quality Time & Memories
And speaking of being present, the number one reason you should go to Disney World with your toddler is to make memories and spend quality time with them. Parents know, time flies by too fast. My daughter doesn’t nap on me anymore. She has little friends at school and is growing more independent by the day, and that’s a good thing!
But I also want to cherish the days when she is little and still wants to hold my hand. The memories we’ve made on vacation with her will last forever, and I’m so grateful we took the time to spend time together as a family.
