We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort on our latest trip to Disney World and I have some thoughts. Read below to learn all about the Pros and Cons of the Caribbean Beach Resort.
Pros:
1. Pricing
The Caribbean Beach Resort is in the Moderate hotel category at Disney World. You can save a bit of money by staying at this hotel, especially if there is a deal on rooms.
2. Skyliner
The skyliner is the best way to get to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios in my opinion. If you are a mama with a stroller, it’s incredible. Rather than collapsing the stroller or take anything out of it, you just stroll right on the skyliner. The lines are also more manageable. If you enjoy EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, the skyliner might be worth your stay.
3. Cast Members
We met several kind and helpful cast members on our latest journey to Disney. I can’t stress to you how important it was that the staff at Caribbean Beach were kind and helpful. If they had been rude, this might have been my least favorite Disney hotel of all time. The Cast Members saved the day!
Cons:
1. Distance
The Caribbean Beach Resort is very big. In order to get from the lobby to our room in the Aruba section we had to take a van from bell services. Then whenever we wanted to get to the lobby for a meal, we had to take the internal bus system or walk a very long way. Even walking to the Riviera hotel (which was closer to our room) was kind of a jaunt. If our daughter had been with us it would have been even more exhausting.
2. Slow Buses
Speaking of the buses, we did not care for the bus system. I’ve never waited more for buses than I did on this trip. My husband and I made it work, but if I had my preschooler with me then she would have been chaos. For example, we waited for the bus from Animal Kingdom to our resort for half an hour or more. That’s a lot of lost time.
You also have to stop at many different stops within the resort, because the resort itself is so big. Overall the buses are a time suck.
3. Room Location
The Caribbean Beach Resort has several sections including Aruba, Trinidad, Martinique, Jamaica, Barbados and the front lobby or port. Where your room is located can really affect your overall experience. Some rooms have been renovated, while others have not. Some are closer to the skyliner or bus stops. If you haven’t been to the resort and know which area you prefer, you might be placed in a bad position.
For example, our room was close to the Riviera skyliner, which was lovely. However, it was far away from the front lobby or any food. That was inconvenient in the evenings.
