Last weekend my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the the Montage Resort in Healdsburg, CA. Now this trip was for work, so we did not pay for everything ourselves. However, I thought it would be helpful to review this transformative hideaway for anyone who might be planning a honeymoon or special retreat. Without further adieu, here is An Honest Review of the Montage Resort in Healdsburg.
1. Flawless Service
The number one thing we noticed about the Montage in Healdsburg is the absolutely flawless service. We never saw housekeeping staff, but they somehow snuck in to tidy our room a couple times a day. There were golf carts to take you to your room and I don’t think I opened a single door during our stay. The staff seemed very young, but I was impressed by how they conducted themselves throughout our stay. They were all so professional, kind and ready to help with anything you needed.
2. Calming Atmosphere
I’ve never stayed at a more calming resort than the Montage. You could sit around a fire pit near the lobby, on the balcony of your room or walk the property and every part of it was zen. If you are looking for a place to take a retreat, I highly recommend. They also have a spa, which I didn’t have a chance to experience, but heard it was lovely.
3. Delicious Food
I have never had a better breakfast than at the Montage. The coconut yogurt was perfection. The fruit was fresh and the chocolate croissant was absolutely addictive. I even ordered a pressed juice just to be healthy (not thinking I would enjoy it), but found myself savoring every drop.
During our last night on property we had a multiple course dinner, which was impeccable from start to finish. I will be dreaming about that food for a long time.
4. Spacious Rooms
Our bungalow-style guest rooms had floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the oak forest. The beds were extremely comfortable, which I’m not used to saying, because I’m spoiled by my mattress at home. The bathroom featured an indoor and outdoor shower and extra large soaker tub. I could have stayed in our room for the entirety of the weekend and would have been as content as a clam. (That’s a saying, right?)
5. Location
Historic Healdsburg Plaza is only a 5-10 minute drive from the Montage. They have cars that will take guests to and from the shopping area, which we found very convenient. The plaza has boutique stores for clothing, art, jewelry, photography, ice cream, antiques and much much more. We didn’t have a lot of time to spend there, but I’d love to go back and explore that area more.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about An Honest Review of the Montage Resort in Healdsburg. Full disclosure, this resort is the certainly the most lavish one we’ve had the privilege to experience.
