Helpful Review of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Last week we celebrated the most wonderful time of year in the happiest place on earth. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is perhaps my favorite event in all of Disney World. If you love the Christmas season, this party is perfect for you. Read a Helpful Review of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party below to learn more!

1. Characters

One of my favorite things to do at the Mickey’s Very Merry is meet special characters. If you are hoping to meet specific characters, I recommend doing it at the very beginning of the night, because some lines can be a little long. We were first in line to meet Mary Poppins at exactly 7:00pm by the Town Square Theatre. We also met characters at the different dance parties, saw them in shows and parades and waved at them as they wandered the park. They’re everywhere!

2. Shows

There is a show called Frozen Holiday Surprise at 8:15, but we actually caught the 6:15 show before the party even started. We were able to get a spot right next to the stage in front of the castle only 15 minutes before the show started! My daughter loved seeing all her favorite Frozen characters and it was a good way to get in the holiday spirit.

Mickeys Most Merriest Celebration stage show takes place at four different times throughout the night, but we went to the 9:25pm show. Unfortunately, I do not remember a lot of it, because my sister cut her finger, so we were all focused on that. However, what I did see was adorable and I highly recommend getting a spot closer to the stage again if you have little ones with you.

3. Parade

Mickey’s Once Upon a Time Christmas Parade takes place at two different times during the party. We decided to go to the later parade at 11:00pm and were able to get front row seats at the end of Main Street USA. We did sit there for maybe 30 minutes or more before the parade started in order to secure a good spot, but it was worth it. In the future I want to sit closer to where the parade starts rather than where it ends, but with the tree and Main Street, our spot this year was lovely.

4. Fireworks

We elected to skip the fireworks, because my daughter isn’t a big fan of loud noises and fire. So, while the fireworks were booming she and I rode the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Teacups. There were no lines at rides, because everyone was watching the fireworks, so we could have done even more, but I wanted to get a good spot for the parade.

5. Cookies/Food

There were five different spots to collect cookies at the party. The cookie flavors included Snickerdoodle, Red Velvet, Gingerbread, Chocolate Chip and Sugar. Each stop gave us more cookies than we needed, so we ended up flying home with lots of extra cookies.

As for other party exclusive foods, I will list my reviews below. We were hoping to try a lot more items, but simply ran out of time.

  • Candy Cane Tart at Casey’s Corner – Rich, but very good if you love peppermint.
  • Holiday Ham Fried Pie from the Friar’s Nook – DELICIOUS. We all wished we had bought more. 10/10
  • Peppermint Snowman from Friar’s Nook – Another family favorite. Light and minty. Very good!
  • Christmas Popcorn at Main Street Bakery – Better fresh and very shareable, but definitely delicious.

6. Crowds

My #1 reason for going to Mickey’s Very Merry is the crowds. Lines for rides at much shorter, people are typically in the holiday spirit and not as hot or cranky. We love the crowds on a party night!

7. Weather

We attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on November 22nd. It was actually chilly in the Magic Kingdom, so I wore pants and a Christmas sweater. By the end of the party at midnight I was actually wishing for a jacket!

8. Rides

We were able to walk on four different rides in Magic Kingdom during the party. The lines were so short we could have done even more, but our priorities were not rides. However, if you wanted to focus on rides while at the party, you could definitely try them all!
