A Simple but Stunning AirBnb in Cottonwood Falls, KS

A couple of weeks ago my sister and I had the opportunity to stay at A Simple but Stunning AirBnb in Cottonwood Falls, KS called The 1879 Stone House. We were there for a reading retreat, and it was absolutely perfect. Read more about this beautiful home below!

1. Spacious

The first thing I noticed about our Airbnb was how spacious it was. There was only two of us staying at the property, but we could have easily fit out whole family. There were three large bedrooms, three bathrooms and plenty of seating in the living room, dining room and even in the outdoor spaces.

2. Cleanliness

Sometimes when you stay at an Airbnb you can tell things weren’t thoroughly cleaned. This was not the case at the Stone House. The entire cottage was pristine, but so cozy and inviting. We immediately felt at home in the space.

3. Amenities

Speaking of feeling at home, I was also impressed by the amenities provided by the owners of the property. There were farm fresh eggs in the fridge and home baked goods on the counter. The bathrooms were stocked with lovely bath products and plenty of towels. Each room had extra blankets and was so welcoming it was hard to decide where to sleep. It was too cold for us to try the fire pit or outdoor gas fireplace, but we certainly want to try them on our next stay.

4. Design

Whomever took the time to curate the interior of the cottage has an eye for design. I found myself wandering the rooms, just admiring the decor. There were even a few art pieces displayed in the home for purchase.

5. History

Another reason to stay in Cottonwood Falls is to learn some Kansas history. The 1879 Stone House is one of the oldest homes in Cottonwood Falls, KS. It’s made entirely out of stone, and stood empty for several years, but was recently revitalized by the current owners. The Chase County courthouse, which is located downtown, is actually the oldest operating courthouse in Kansas and was founded in 1873. If you love to learn little facts like this, then the Stone House would be the ideal place for a getaway.

6. Community

The final thing that made us fall in love with the A Simple but Stunning AirBnb in Cottonwood Falls, KS is the community. On our first afternoon in Cottonwood Falls, my sister and I took a reading break and walked downtown. We’d only planned on visiting a local coffee shop called HeBrews, but found ourselves stopping in multiple boutiques and antique stores. Everyone we met was so kind and welcoming. You could feel the love the community shares for their town. It was a beautiful thing.
