Recently I decided to go check out our local Dollar Tree, and there were so many Dollar Store Items to Buy for Disney World. It might be different in your area, but it’s always a good idea to take a peek. Small things like those listed below are budget-friendly ways to entertain your kids on travel day.
I also linked any items I could see on Amazon for those of you who don’t have a Dollar Store nearby.

1. Small Disney/Pixar Characters
The best thing you can get at a dollar store are these small Disney/Pixar characters. My daughter loves to play and imagine with all her little friends. We usually pack a small bag of them in our carry-on for her to enjoy.
They also sell similar characters at Disney for a much higher price, so this is a good way to save money.
2. Coloring Books
They have so many different coloring books at the dollar store. They had Minnie, Encanto, Buzz Lightyear, etc.
3. Sticker Books
I saw both sticker books and just pamphlets of stickers at the dollar store. My toddler loves playing with stickers, so these are an easy thing to bring on the plane.
4. Suncatchers
A fun activity for your hotel room or maybe for before your trip would be to paint a Disney sun catcher. They had several cute ones to choose from.
5. Books
I’m big on packing books for my toddler, because they entertain her so well! She also likes to read with us before bed each night. The Dollar Tree had several paperback Disney books to choose from.
6. Word Searches
If your kiddo is a little older or you are looking for an activity for yourself, there are word searches and puzzle books available.
7. Activity Books
Our daughter just started preschool, so I was pleased to see the dollar tree had activity books for kids. Things like tracing practice or matching could be good for a long plane ride.
8. Stuffies
The stuffed animals at Dollar Tree can be questionable, but the Minnie Mouse one weren’t too bad. It also might be a good idea to buy a cheap stuffy for your vacation, because if it gets lost it can be easily replaced.
9. Hair Bows/Ties
Another fun thing I didn’t know was sold at the Dollar Tree were hair ties and bows. I feel like we are constantly losing bows. Anyone else?
10. T-Shirts
If you are looking for a cheap shirt to wear for a park day, the dollar tree has plenty! They were actually really cute, too.
11. Wash Cloths
Do you remember those dehydrated wash cloths from when you were a kid? You put it under water and it expands to show you the character or whatever? They have those at the dollar tree!
12. Activity Tins
The final thing I saw at the dollar store, though I probably missed some things, were activity tins. These are great for travel, because they are so compact. Inside the tin are colors, stickers, etc. Something small like that would be a good surprise for the plane.
