Below are my 6 Helpful Tips for Bringing a Stroller to a Theme Park. It’s certainly easier to visit the parks without a stroller, but if you have a child less than the age of five or six, I highly encourage you to bring one. We walk an average of 20,000 steps a day at the parks. Those steps are much easier when we are pushing a stroller instead of carrying our tired toddler.
1. Choose the Right Stroller
Choosing the right stroller for a theme park is key. At Disney, you will be on and off transportation between parks and may need to collapse your stroller. We bought an umbrella stroller that had worked wonderfully. However, I recommend doing some research and finding the right fit for your family!
2. Look Up Stroller Parking
It’s a good idea to know ahead of time where you might be able to park your stroller. If you park your stroller in the wrong area, it might be moved by the staff and then you will spend precious time trying to locate it.
3. Add an Air Tag
Speaking of finding your stroller, I recommend hiding an AirTag somewhere discrete. Why? If for some reason your stroller is moved, taken accidentally, or you forget where you parked it, you will be able to find the location easily.
4. Make Your Mark
Another way to easily find your stroller is by marking it clearly. Try tying a ribbon or bandana to the handle. Or you could make a cute sign that says “The ___ Family.” They sell all sorts of cute signs on Etsy as well. The more unique you make your stroller, the easier it will be to locate it in the crowd.
5. Add Some Lights
If you are planning on being in the theme park at night, I highly recommend adding a small string of battery powered lights to your stroller. I thought this would be a little extra to do, but it was actually so helpful when navigating the park and looking for things in the stroller basket.
6. Don’t Forget a Stroller Cover!
If you remember anything from this blog post, let it be this. Do NOT forget a stroller cover. Not only that, but if you are in Florida or you know it is likely to rain, keep the stroller cover already draped partly on the stroller. That way you can drop it over at a moments notice.
Also, if you are getting on a ride then go ahead and cover the stroller just to be safe. There’s nothing worse than a wet seat for your toddler. Trust me.
