If you had asked me a year ago which park was the best for preschoolers, I would have said Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. However, on our last trip to Disney World we did a lot more exploring in Hollywood Studios and found so much to do with our daughter! Read all about How to Entertain a Preschooler at Hollywood Studios below.
1. Meet Characters
Meeting characters is one of my daughter’s favorite things to do in Hollywood Studios. On our last trip she met BB-8, Darth Vader, and Chewy from Star Wars. She’s also met Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Grogu, the Mandalorian, Daisy, Donald, Ariel, Sully from Monster’s Inc and various other characters. There’s so many to meet throughout the park, you could honestly spend your whole day meeting characters.
2. Disney Junior Play and Dance
Another thing our daughter loves to do in Hollywood Studios is the Disney Junior Play and Dance! This event is only ten minutes and runs throughout the day. You get to dance with a few Disney Jr characters like Timon, Mickey and Doc McStuffins. Also, bubbles fall from the ceiling, which is a very big deal in our house.
3. Frozen Sing-Along
Speaking of bubbles falling from the sky, it snows during the Frozen Sing-Along show! During this Sing-Along, two Royal Historians of Arendelle walk you through the story of Elsa and Anna. I found the two historians to be absolutely hilarious, and my daughter loved hearing some of her favorite songs. It was a win-win.
4. Rides
Another way to entertain a preschooler at Hollywood Studios is to go on rides. I will add below whether or not they have been a success for us, though all of them have a low height requirement. The best rides include:
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – preschooler approved!
- Toy Story Mania! – preschooler approved and my daughter’s favorite ride!
- Alien Swirling Saucers (32” height requirement) – haven’t tried yet
- Slinky Dog Dash (38” height requirement) – haven’t tried yet
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (38” height requirement) – haven’t tried yet
5. Beauty and the Beast
We have not had the privilege of attending the Beauty and the Beast show yet, but plan to do so in March. I’ve heard wonderful things about it, and my daughter adores Beauty and the Beast. It’s also an attraction that doesn’t usually fill up, so you can typically find a seat.
6. Roundup Rodeo BBQ
The last tip for How to Entertain a Preschooler at Hollywood Studios is eating at the the Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Roundup is a newer restaurant in the Toy Story land portion of Hollywood Studios. It was a trip highlight for the whole family. The cast members were so kind and helpful, the food was delicious and the restaurant itself was precious. If you love Toy Story, definitely add this to the list. Read more about Roundup Rodeo here.
