Our Review of Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom

Did you know that you can stay late at Magic Kingdom… for free? Depending on the resort you choose, you might be able to attend Extended Evening Hours. Discover more about this opportunity below on Our Review of Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom.

What are Extended Evening Hours?

Extended evening hours are included with your deluxe resort stay on select nights. Deluxe resort guest can stay an extra two hours at the parks after closing. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge on an EEH day and were able to be at Magic Kingdom until 11:00pm.

Are there less crowds?

I’ve seen the parks be next to empty when people go to extended evening hours. This was sadly not the case for our family. We got to do several fun things, but I actually expected to do a lot more with the time we had.

Any special food?

There are not any special food options during evening hours like there are for After Hours events. However, many food locations stayed open during Extended Evening Hours, including Casey’s Corner.

How did things go with a three year old?

We had our daughter take a late nap, so she did well considering the late hour. She loved the fireworks and getting to stay up past her bedtime. Unfortunately the lines were longer than we had anticipated, so with the stroller and her little legs we didn’t get as much accomplished as planned.

I will say if you have older kids, then extended evening hours might be the perfect fit for your family! It was fun with our daughter, but would have been a lot smoother without a stroller.

What did you do?

In the 3-4 hours we were in Magic Kingdom we did the following:

Rode the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Met Princess Elena and Cinderella
Rode Peter Pan’s Flight
Watched Fireworks outside Pinocchio Village Haus
Saw some friends
Rode It’s a Small World
Wandered and took pictures

Would you try it again?

Personally, I’m going to wait until my daughter gets a little older or go with just friends. Being in Magic Kingdom at night is really special, and we definitely made some sweet memories. It’s also fun that this option is included on certain nights when staying at a Deluxe Resort and does not cost extra.
