Welcome to a brand new blog series I will be doing about the perfect day at each park. In this series, I will be sharing what I imagine to be the perfect day at each individual Disney park. I’m going to leave the comments open on this one, so be sure to share what things will make up The Perfect Day at Disney World: Magic Kingdom.
(Keep in mind that my perfect day at Magic Kingdom includes the following: my husband, sister, 3-year-old daughter, coordinating outfits and decent weather. It’s the ideal day!)
8:20am – Rope Drop
We are a rope drop to closing family most of the time. The only way we make this happen is by taking an afternoon break, but more on that later.
8:40am – Grab a Snack & Get a Castle Picture
A castle picture is a must. We also love a good waffle from Sleepy Hollow.
9:00am – Watch the Dapper Dans
The Dapper Dans are a national treasure. That is all.
9:20am – Rides with Short Lines
At this point in the day we would try and ride anything with a short line. Something like: Dumbo, It’s a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates, the People Mover, the train, etc…
11:00am – Early Lunch at the Crystal Palace
I am such a sucker for Crystal Palace! The food is always amazing and we love Winnie the Pooh and friends.
12:00pm – Walk through Shops on the Way Out
After lunch it’s about time to head back for a mid-day break. We would walk through the main street shops and peruse on the way to the gate. Enjoy that AC.
12:30pm-3:00pm – Break in the hotel room
The key to our getting from rope drop to close is taking a break in the hotel room. Everyone gets tired and over-stimulated in Magic Kingdom. We leave at the hottest part of the day and go back to the resort for a nap. Since this is the prefect day lets say we were staying at Wilderness Lodge or the Grand Floridian.
3:30pm – Return to Park for Bigger Rides
In the afternoon we could come back to ride the bigger ticket rides. Things like Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Pirates, or Haunted Mansion. I would have lightning lanes for a few rides like these ready to go.
*They did recently change the lightning lane system, so unclear how this works now.
5:00pm – Quick Service Dinner
After a couple rides I would go the Spring Roll Cart and Casey’s Corner for some Quick Service dinner.
6:00pm – Meet Some Characters
It might be nice to meet some princesses, Peter Pan or Mickey & Friends. Seeing my daughter’s face when she meets her favorite characters melts my heart into a puddle.
7:00pm – Do Some Pin Trading
We love a good Disney pin in this house.
8:40pm – Look for a Snack Firework Spot.
Coconut Dole Whip is the ideal snack for the end of the day in Magic Kingdom. And we try to get close to the Castle for fireworks, somewhere near Casey’s Corner.
9:20pm – Watch Happily Ever After
The last part of The Perfect Day at Disney World: Magic Kingdom would be watching Happily Ever After with my family. My favorite excerpt of the song is I Can Go the Distance. Anyone else a Hercules fan?
