1. Are toiletries provided?
We were surprised to discover that although some very small toiletries were provided, they weren’t enough for nine people for five days. We ended up buying some things at a local Dollar store.
2. Where are the local grocery stores?
Speaking of amenities, it might be a good idea to know where the local stores might be. We were 30 minutes from a Walmart, but only 10 minutes from a Dollar store. Both of these locations came in handy during our visit.
3. What is the noise level for the neighborhood?
A property may seem serene online, but what if there is currently construction nearby or a busy road? If you have a napping child then you know the importance of such information.
4. What do we do in case of emergency?
It’s important to know where the local emergency rooms or stat cares might be located. If someone in your party gets sick, you will want that information readily handy. You may also like to know who your primary contact would be if a pipe bursts or the AC quits working.
5. What is supplied in the kitchen?
It might be difficult to cook for your family without things like spices or aluminum foil. Getting a good idea of what is already on the property will help you make your grocery list for the week.
6. Is there access to an elevator?
If you are traveling with someone who has an injury or struggles to climb too many stairs, it might be a good idea to ask about such things. Will the home or apartment have elevator access? How many flights of stairs are there on property? The answers to these questions may change your mind about the stay.
