8 Rides We Love for Kids at Disneyland

We experienced Disneyland for the first time last month, and had the opportunity to ride a few new rides. Many of the attractions at Disneyland are kid-friendly, so we compiled a list of 8 Rides We Love for Kids at Disneyland. Read below to learn more about the attractions you can’t miss when visiting this park!

it's a small world ride at Disneyland

1. It’s a Small World

It’s a Small World is possibly the most classic Disney ride, and a must-do when visiting Disneyland. We were able to experience the holiday overlay of It’s a Small World, and it was simply breathtaking. I loved every second and would have ridden that ride over and over again if we had time. Our daughter was also thrilled with the festive twist on her favorite Disney ride, and excited to find some of her favorite characters hidden throughout.

2. Casey Jr. Circus Train

One of my daughter’s favorite Disney movies is Dumbo, so getting to ride the actual Casey Jr Circus Train just blew her mind. It’s a short ride, but very nostalgic and you’re able to see glimpses of Storybook Land along the way.

3. Storybook Land Canal Boats

The Storybook Land Canal Boats are just precious. If you’ve read the Little Man of Disneyland book then it makes the experience even sweeter. The boats take you through “the enchanting homes and villages from classic Disney movies,” but in miniature.

4. Alice in Wonderland

We are big fans of Alice in Wonderland in this house. In fact, it was the theme for our daughter’s 4th birthday party. The ride was really cute and takes you through all the parts of the original Alice cartoon.

5. Disneyland Railroad

We rode the Disneyland railroad at night, and I kind of wish we had been able to ride it during the day. I recommend riding the train around the whole track at least once, because you get to see and experience all areas of the park. We also had the opportunity to glimpse the Lilly Belle, which is a train car designed by and named after Walt Disney’s wife. So cool!

6. Snow White’s Enchanted Wish

Snow White’s Enchanted Wish was really cute. The only part that might be spooky for little kids is when the evil queen turns into the old woman. My daughter has seen the original film, so I don’t think it bothered her much.

7. Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland is longer than the ride at Disney World, and our group all agreed we liked this ride even more. My daughter wasn’t so sure at the beginning when there are a few skeletons, but she always thinks the pirates are funny.

8. Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard

Okay, so this last one isn’t a ride. However, it was possibly one of the highlights of my daughters day. She would have stayed there another hour if we’d let her. The play yard was very interactive and fun for kids of all ages, so I highly recommend adding this to the list if you are traveling to Disneyland with young kids.
