One of our favorite places to stay on Disney property is Wilderness Lodge. It’s a soothing and beautiful resort with incredible food. One of the restaurants on property is the Whispering Canyon Cafe, and oh man is the food delicious. Read below to discover What You Need to Try at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

1. Whispering Canyon House Salad

The food at Whispering Canyon is plentiful and heavy. I recommend starting your meal with the house salad. It’s light, fresh and gives you a bit of healthy nutrients before the hearty meal. Also, the cranberry-poppyseed vinaigrette is delightful.

2. “The Pig” Signature Skillet

Our favorite part of “the pig” signature skillet was the braised pork belly, maple-chipotle barbecued pork ribs, or slow-smoked pulled pork. I’m not a heavy meat eater, but both my husband and I were impressed with the quality of the bbq.

3. “The Traditional” Signature Skillet

Both skillets had smashed potatoes, buttered corn, and sautéed green beans. I truly feel like these types of sides are overlooked. However, those mashed potatoes were so good I asked if we could take some to go. The green beans were crisp, which I appreciated, because some green beans can be soggy. Overall a delicious meal.

4. Ask for Ketchup

The last thing I would recommend you need to try at the Whispering Canyon Cafe is asking for ketchup. I’m not even going to spoil the fun of what happens if you do so, but just know it’s worth doing once.
