On our most recent trip to Disney World we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. It was absolutely beautiful and might be our number one favorite place to stay on property. Read all about Why We Love the Wilderness Lodge in Disney World below!
1. Boat to Magic Kingdom
If you are looking to spend a lot of time in Magic Kingdom, then the Wilderness Lodge might be for you. The hotel has a boat that travels to and from the happiest place on earth, and it’s such a beautiful ride. We took the boat to our hotel after Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and were able to watch the fireworks from the boat! It was quite possibly the most magical moment I’ve ever experienced.
2. Cast Members
When we arrived at Wilderness Lodge, I found out there had been a mix up with out room and we were given the wrong one. I went to the desk and a cast member was able to quickly remedy the issue and get us the right room. Everyone we met on our stay was kind and helpful.
3. Stunning Rooms
Speaking of the room, we stayed in a 1 Bedroom Villa, which was a bit of a splurge. The room was absolutely stunning with plenty of amenities. Some of the amenities include: laundry and dish soap, a washer and dryer, a full kitchen and a jacuzzi tub.
After staying in such a nice room, it might be difficult to go back to others. However, I know you can rent DVC points at this hotel, so keep an eye out for those listings in order to save a little money.
4. The Theming
Wilderness Lodge is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever had the privilege of visiting. The hotel is inspired by a turn-of-the-century National Park lodge. It feels as though you are out in the middle of the wilderness and not near Disney Parks. You could easily go here for a retreat and have the best time.
5. Characters
We met so many characters while staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Goofy, Donald and Pluto were greeting people outside one morning. There was hardly anyone meeting with them, so Ronia got a special character moment without waiting in line.
They also have a restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge called Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. If you are able to eat at this restaurant you will meet Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen! My daughter loved this dinner and talks about it often.
6. Restaurants
Speaking of restaurants, the Wilderness Lodge has a few delicious dining options. I’ve heard great things about the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Geyser Point Bar & Grill. We didn’t have enough time to try everything, but I look forward to trying these spots out on a future trip.
We were able to eat at the quick service called Roaring Fork, and it was pretty good! They have mickey waffles, which my daughter loved, and the staff was very kind.
