My number one reason for staying on property at Universal Studios is the proximity to the parks. If you forget something, it’s relatively easy to get back to your hotel and retrieve it. You can also go back for a mid-day break if you are traveling with a baby or toddler. Being that close to the parks is incredibly helpful, especially to save aching feet.
2. Types of Transportation
Depending on which hotel you choose, there are many ways to get from your hotel to Universal Studios. All hotels have buses, but some have boats or even a walking trail. I have found the boats and walking trails to be ideal when we stay. You wait in line less and both walking trails and boat rides feel relaxing after a long day in crowds.
3. Beautiful Hotels
We have stayed at four of the eight Universal Studios hotels, and each of them was beautiful in a different way. My current favorite is the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. Staying at the Sapphire feels like you’ve stepped into a tropical paradise. It’s calming and spacious, and has boat transportation to the park. However, you could easily have a little stay-cation at the resort without going to Universal and have a wonderful time.
4. Express Pass
Another reason to stay at a Universal hotel is to receive the express pass. Only the premier Universal hotels have the express pass included, but depending on how much you enjoy riding roller coasters, it might be a good option for you. Having an express pass can save you hours of park time.
5. Early Park Admission
If you stay at a Universal Studios hotel, you are able to enter the parks an hour before opening. Yup, you read that right. An hour! That’s so much park time with half the crowd. Early park admission alone might be worth a Universal hotel stay.
6. Merchandise Delivery
My final reason Why You Need to Stay on Property at Universal Studios is merchandise delivery. If you buy merch while in the park, you can ask to have it delivered to the hotel. No need to carry it around all day! How great is that?
