We are on a mission to try every character meal at Disney World, and we are nearly there! Our latest meal was at Akershus, a restaurant in the Norway portion of EPCOT. I’ve been saving this restaurant for a special occasion, and I’m so glad I did. Read all about Why You Need to Try Akershus in Epcot below!

1. Delicious Food
Akershus is a host to a feast in honor of beloved storybook princesses, featuring Norwegian-inspired foods. We experienced breakfast, which included things like pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potato casserole and Norwegian waffles. The meal is served family-style and there was so much of it we weren’t able to finish.
I highly recommend this meal if you are dining with children or picky eaters. There were plenty of options and everything was delicious.

2. Abundance of Characters
The number one reason to eat at Akershus is to meet the princess, which can vary depending on the day. I was surprised by how many princesses we were able to meet in a single meal! There was Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Tiana and even Cinderella. My daughter was over the moon every time a new princess twirled into the room. They were also so sweet to take their time talking with her, and we never felt rushed.
Reminder: It’s important to remember you aren’t supposed to be grabbing at the princesses or their dresses. A nearby family was grabbing at Aurora and I could tell she was very nervous and uncomfortable. Please be kind.
3. Stunning Atmosphere
The interior of Akershus looks like a medieval castle, and is truly the perfect place to meet a princess. It was so warm and cozy on our chilly day in EPCOT, but I can image it would also be a safe haven for air conditioning on a warmer Florida day. The chairs were comfortable and we had plenty of space. All in all it was a lovely experience.

And for the cons…
4. Pricing
Akershus costs $35 to $59.99 per adult, which can be a lot to pay for breakfast, especially with a big family. I saw this is a con, because not everyone would feel comfortable paying this amount. I, however, find it was more than worth it. We met five princesses and ate incredible food. Some character meals don’t feel worth the price, but this one definitely does.
Hmm… Do I have a new favorite character meal?
